A plastic surgeon’s portfolio is extremely important, as it speaks to the quality of the plastic surgeon’s work and his level of skill. We know how important it is to do your research when you are choosing someone to perform a surgery that is not only elective but extremely personal as it adheres to your cosmetic desires. Being able to review a surgeon’s portfolio prior to your consultation can provide you with a good idea in what is achievable through plastic surgery with your specific features, as the before and after photos should include a wide range of patients so that you can search for photos with features comparable to your own.
There are some other important details you may attempt to look for when reviewing a surgeon’s portfolio to measure the quality of their work. You can review images closely, allowing you to look for placement and prominence of incisions, and whether or not the results appear favorable and natural. We also know that the definition of “natural” could vary from patient to patient, so it is also important to make sure you agree with what “natural” looks like to you, in comparison to past surgeries performed by a particular doctor.
We understand that plastic surgery can seem scary, but it does not have to be. Before and after portfolios are just one great guide to help you on your journey and give you some peace of mind.
How authentic are the before & after photos at The Lanfranchi Center?
As we like to say at The Lanfranchi Center, “selfies don’t lie,” and neither do we. Unlike some practices that hire savvy marketing firms to “alter/adjust” their photos, Dr. Lanfranchi personally creates, designs, and approves every set of before and after photos displayed on the TLC website. All gallery photo examples are actual patients of Dr. Lanfranchi who had the stated procedure(s).
There are only two minor adjustments made on any given set of before and after photos by Dr. Lanfranchi. The first one is to crop (zoom-in on) both photos so that the facial proportions are equal (i.e. each set of ears or eyes are the same size for both photos). The second is an adjustment of the light exposure so that both photos are equally bright (i.e. one not significantly darker/lighter than the other). This is often required since we take photos at different times of day where the light in the rooms is different, producing some lighter or darker photos. No photo is ever “photoshopped” or altered in any other way.
These considerations, care, and honesty allow for true and accurate sharing of our amazing results.
