Sagging eyebrows can place excess weight on the eyes, causing you to appear tired and making it difficult to keep your eyes open. An eyebrow lift reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, lifts the weight off the eyes, repositions the eyebrow on the bone structure, and improves the patient’s self-confidence.
What is a Brow Lift?
The Lanfranchi Center performs brow lifts to elevate the eyebrows to their natural position on the bone. It allows our patients to look less tired and makes it easier for them to apply makeup.
Dr. Lanfranchi performs brow lifts under local anesthesia and oral sedatives to ensure your comfort. In the hair of the scalp, he makes tiny incisions to elevate the eyebrows. Some patients combine their eyebrow rejuvenation with an eyelid lift for more dramatic results.
How Long is Recovery from a Brow Lift?
Due to using local anesthesia, our patients feel less tired and disoriented afterward. Most patients return to work one to two weeks after their treatment, but some swelling may persist for up to a year.
Day One
We recommend sleeping with your head elevated and keeping ice and pain meds nearby to help reduce pain and swelling. You will likely be sore around the eyes, forehead, and scalp, with bruising on the upper face. You may experience some discharge from the incisions. Please keep your head elevated and leave your bandages alone.
Week One
Pain, swelling, and bruising subside gradually within the first week. Dr. Lanfranchi may remove the bandages and sutures on day six or seven.Â
Please refrain from returning to work within the first week or doing any strenuous activities. We recommend watching TV, reading, catching up on emails, or enjoying other relaxing pastimes. The most important thing for you to do in the first week is to rest.
Week Two
Some patients feel comfortable returning to work after the first week, while others wait until the end of the second. Your symptoms should subside by this time. We do not, however, recommend wearing glasses for 14-21 days after your brow lift.Â
Week Three and On
After three to four weeks, it is safe to participate in exercise and other activities that raise blood pressure. The swelling will mostly subside, but the swelling may last up to a year. Final results surface after the swelling entirely dissipates.Â
Am I a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
Candidates for brow lifts at the Lanfranchi Center are patients who do not smoke and are in good overall health. If you struggle with sagging eyebrows, please schedule a consultation with Dr. Lanfranchi to learn more about how a brow lift can rejuvenate your facial features.
I can’t thank Dr. Lanfranchi and his rock star staff enough for all they have done! My bleph, under eye laser and brow lift look not only fantastic and most importantly natural, but healed so quickly! The level of care I received from everyone pre and post surgery was way beyond my expectations, I wasn’t treated like a client, but rather like how you would care for a family member! My only regret is I didn’t do it sooner!
