How Much Does a Blepharoplasty Cost?

Blepharoplasty, or an eyelid lift, is a procedure that removes skin and fat from the eyelids. Fat could also be added, depending on your goals for this treatment.

If you feel that your eyes constantly look tired and they’re making you feel old, the eyelid surgery could be the perfect solution for you.

Blepharoplasty could help you to achieve a natural, youthful, and rested look. Read on to discover everything you need to know about it, including the cost.

About Blepharoplasty

There are two types of blepharoplasty: upper blepharoplasty surgery and lower eyelid surgery.

Upper blepharoplasty surgery will involve incisions being made so that fat and skin can be removed. The skin will then be brought together with a thin stitch, within the natural crease of the eyelid.

The lower eyelid will involve incisions being made immediately beneath the lash line.  This is ideal for any patient that needs fat to be added or removed.

You can also combine blepharoplasty with other treatments to reduce wrinkles and lines around the eyelid, such as laser skin resurfacing.

Blepharoplasty Cost

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average cost for cosmetic eyelid surgery in 2019 was $3,282.

There are various factors that can impact the cost of eyelid surgery. This includes the geographic location of the clinic, the type of procedure carried out, and the experience of the surgeon.

This is why it is important to book a consultation with The Lanfranchi Center and we will be able to put together a quote for you, with a breakdown of everything the cost covers

Some of the different things that may be included in the cost are medical tests, prescriptions for medication, anesthesia fees, surgical facility or hospital costs, and the surgeon’s fee.

When it comes to blepharoplasty, it is just as important to make sure the surgeon is experienced and that you are comfortable with her as it is the final cost of the eyelid surgery.

Am I a Candidate for Blepharoplasty?

A suitable candidate for an eyelid lift is someone who is in good overall health and has realistic expectations.

This treatment can assist if you have any of the following:

  • ‘Hooded’ upper eyelids
  • Under-eye ‘bags
  • Fine, ‘crepe paper’ lower eyelid wrinkles
  • ‘Puffy’ upper eyelids, which make your eyes look ‘sad’ and tired
  • Loose upper eyelid skin that impairs vision
  • Loose or excess skin that hides the natural fold of the upper eyelids

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, make sure you inform your surgeon about this during your consultation. This may or may not prevent you from having eyelid surgery.

“I’ve been considering eyelid surgery for a while now. My lids were starting to droop, and my right lid was even droopier because I had a non-stop twitch for over a year. I looked at just about every eyelid surgery review on Real Self (thank you all for posting!) and ended up booking a couple of consultations. I decided to go with Dr. Lanfranchi…he was more expensive but he and his staff were so professional and made me feel comfortable. I had the procedure on October 13…I’m still in the healing process but I am so pleased with my progress so far. I think my right eye is still a little swollen, but the bruising is almost completely gone and the scar is healing nicely. Overall, very pleased!” *
