About Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing enables you to achieve improved texture and skin tone, decreased pore size, and a considerable reduction in wrinkles and fine lines.
It achieves this without the added risks and extreme recovery time associated with a conventional CO2 laser.
A fractional CO2 laser will stimulate the production of new collagen, resulting in skin that is refreshed and revitalized.
The tone, texture, and overall quality of your skin are going to continue to improve for a period of six to nine months.
So, what should you expect from this type of laser skin resurfacing? With fractionated CO2, very short pulses of light energy, known as ultra pulse, or continual light beams will be delivered to the skin. This will eradicate the skin’s thin layers with minimal heat damage.
Is There any Downtime?
One of the great things about the fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment that we offer at The Lanfranchi Center is the minimal downtime.
Recovery can take anywhere from seven to 10 days, with most people needing no more than five days of downtime. Within the first few days, you will look a bit red, and your skin will be peeling.
In terms of aftercare, Dr. Lanfranchi will talk you through all of the steps you need to follow. This will include advising you to use ample amounts of moisterizer. You should also avoid any prescription acne products or harsh products on your skin for at least a week.
No matter how tempted you may be, you should not pick or peel your skin during the recovery process!
