There is no denying that the facelift has been one of the most popular cosmetic treatments for a number of years now. The reason why this treatment is so highly sought after is that it tackles a number of facial hang-ups in one go. It can also be customized to suit your specific needs. Here at The Lanfranchi Center, we provide a number of different facelift treatments. Below, we will explain the difference between a facelift and a mini facelift so that you can get a better understanding of which treatment will be best suited to you.
What is a Facelift?
Let’s begin by explaining what a facelift is. We are delighted to offer the TLC Premier Lift, which is a custom facelift that combines between three and six different anti-aging treatments. As mentioned, facelifts are always customized and tailored to suit your needs. This treatment enables you to combat all of the common and typical areas of aging in the face at the one time. You won’t have to come back for numerous treatments; they will all be carried out in one go. You can use this facelift to correct your drooping jawline and neck tissue. Other areas that can be improved include facial structure, volume, tone, skin texture, and eyelid aging as well.
What is a Mini Facelift?
As mentioned, another type of facelift treatment that we are delighted to offer is the Mini Facelift. For those who are unaware, a mini facelift is suitable when you first start to notice the signs of aging. If you are worried that gravity has started to take its toll on your neck, jawline, and cheeks, but you are not quite sure about having a full facelift, this could be the perfect treatment for you. This facelift has been designed specifically so that early signs of aging are addressed prior to them becoming more pronounced, meaning you will not need to have more extensive treatments at a later date.
Facelift VS Mini Facelift: Candidates
As you can see, one of the main differences between the facelift and the mini facelift is that the latter is designed for early signs of aging whereas a full facelift is better suited when the signs of aging become more pronounced. Therefore, mini facelifts tend to be better suited to individuals who are in their late 30s-to-mid 40s. Of course, if you have been lucky enough to not experience the early signs of aging until later in your life, the mini facelift may still be the better option for you.
Aside from this, there are similar considerations when it comes to the best candidates for these treatments. It is important that you are in good overall health and that you are not a heavy smoker. You also need to make sure that you do not have any sort of medical condition that would interfere with the healing process. Needless to say, this is something that Dr. Lanfranchi will discuss with you in full during your consultation, which also provides you with the perfect opportunity to ask any questions that you may have and to determine which of the two facelifts are going to be better for you.
Facelift VS Mini Facelift: Procedure
In terms of the procedure, the mini facelift is not as extensive as a full facelift, as you may have anticipated. With the mini facelift, shorter incisions are used, and they tend to be located in the natural creases around your ears and/or along the hairline above the ears. Your structural tissue that is around the cheek area will be shored up, as this will correct jowling and redefine the jawline, as well as any skin laxity in the neck region being addressed. Of course, the exact treatment procedure for the full facelift is going to depend on the specific treatments that are incorporated into your facelift.
Facelift VS Mini Facelift: Recovery
Naturally, it will be much quicker to recover from a mini facelift than it will a full facelift, as the treatment is not as extensive. The recovery time for the TLC Mini Lift is a lot quicker than a lot of people realize, with downtime typically anywhere from a few days until one week. A facelift may take longer to recover from, with a lot of patients needing around two weeks to recover. However, it really does depend on the neck and facial treatments that are incorporated into your facelift, and this is something that Dr. Lanfranchi will discuss with you during your consultation.
Facelift VS Mini Facelift: Results
The results that you receive from a full facelift and a mini facelift can differ as well. However, both will provide long-term results, as they alter the skin and tissue on your face. With a mini facelift, you can expect the results to last around ten years before any top-up treatments are required. With a full facelift, it should be around 15 years until you need to have another one. Of course, the results will depend on how well you care for yourself and your skin after the facelift, so do keep this in mind.

Stellar Service from Start to Finish
Two months ago I had a lower lifestyle facial lift. I was apprehensive, but it was well worth the effort and expense. Dr. Lanfranchi and his entire staff were kind, caring and very professional, from the first meeting to the follow up appointments.
The procedure is done under a local, not general anesthetic, and it was easy. I healed quickly and am very satisfied with the results.
His fee was very reasonable. Any further facial work I want done, I will be sure to come back here.
