How Can I Remove Bags Under My Eyes Permanently?

No one wants under-eye bags making us look deceptively tired or overworked when we’re well-rested and feel great. Not only do they prematurely age us, but they also contribute to the perception we’re not thriving or enjoying life. If under-eye bags plague you, a lower eyelid lift at The Lanfranchi Center is a surprisingly quick way to remove them for good!

What is a Lower Blepharoplasty?

Lower blepharoplasty, or the lower eyelid lift, specifically addresses constant under-eye puffiness, wrinkled skin, and even dark circles to give you a refreshed, younger look. For such delicate tissues, it takes a skilled surgeon like Dr. Paul Lanfranchi to provide a smooth, flawless result. Dr. Lanfranchi’s precision and attention to detail, combined with advanced surgical techniques, produce age-defying results to turn back the clock in just a single day.

The outpatient procedure is performed at The Lanfranchi Center, the Las Vegas Valley’s premier cosmetic rejuvenation clinic. Using local anesthesia with oral sedatives, you’re comfortable, relaxed, and pain-free throughout. A tiny incision is made in the natural camouflaging of existing eye creases. Fat pads that have shifted with age are removed, and underlying muscles between the eye and cheek that have become lax are tightened. Excess skin is removed and your incision is closed.

A lower eyelid lift may be the answer if you experience:

  • Asymmetrical lower lids
  • Under-eye sagging
  • Wrinkling skin

Am I a Good Candidate?

If your under-eye bags are cause for concern, you may be an ideal candidate. Some under-eye skin wrinkling is best treated with fractional CO2 laser treatment, so an eyelid lift may not be necessary to achieve your goals. Dr. Lanfranchi can help you determine what’s best for you.

What’s the Treatment and Recovery Like?

There are three issues to consider during the lower blepharoplasty: puffiness under the eyes, skin quality (i.e. wrinkling), and muscle tension between the eye and cheek. Eye bags are flattened by remodeling the fat pads, then muscles are sutured into a better position. Removing excess skin can alleviate wrinkling, and the whole procedure can be performed in about an hour. The recovery process is much easier with local anesthesia and sedatives rather than with general anesthesia as your whole body doesn’t need to metabolize and process the medication.

Comprehensive aftercare instructions are provided alongside extensive post-operative care by Team TLC, and many people consider this procedure to be one of the shortest and easiest recovery periods. Many patients return to work in just 3-4 days! You may experience some bruising, dry eyes, some swelling, and mild discomfort. You should limit strenuous activity for 1 week, and sunglasses are recommended for outdoors while you’re healing. The incisions may take a few more weeks to become unnoticeable.

When Will I See Results?

Once your healing progresses beyond the first week, you’ll have smoother, tighter skin, and your dark circles will be diminished. You’ll look alert and refreshed, without the persistent tired or haggard appearance. Dr. Lanfranchi frequently performs the lower eyelid lift and the upper eyelid lift together, and multiple procedures do not extend recovery times.

“It would be impossible to be happier with my results. Not exaggerating when I say the results changed my life. I had lower face lift and upper and lower eyes done . The way you see yourself in the mirror does effect your self esteem…and not only did I get better than I imagined results on the outside…..I am like a different person inside. While most successful medical procedures are the result of good technical skills…..plastic surgery ALSO requires a special artistry…..Dr.Lanfranchi is a surgeon AND an artist.” *
