What is a Facial Fat Transfer?
A facial fat transfer involves taking fat cells from one area of your body, such as your thigh or abdomen, and purifying it, using it as a facial filler. You may have already heard of dermal fillers and this process works in much the same way. With facial fat transfer, however, you aren’t injecting a foreign substance into your body. Instead, your own fat cells are used to recontour and rejuvenate your face.
Fat cells are removed from the body with a very thin cannula. In fact, the apparatus used during the procedure is so small that only one stitch is needed afterward! When the purified cells are injected into your face, you won’t require any stitches at all, so the treatment is minimally invasive and pain-free.
