Not Happy With Your Facelift? When to Consider a Revision Facelift

A facelift has the potential to be a life-changing procedure that lets you look refreshed and naturally youthful. However, not all facelift results turn out the way you hoped for. Whether you had your facelift recently and are unhappy with your results or want to update a past procedure, a revision facelift helps you achieve the rejuvenated look you want.

What is a Revision Facelift?

A revision facelift or revision rhytidectomy is used to correct or improve the results of a previous facelift. A revision facelift can be a very challenging procedure that requires a skilled and experienced surgeon. Scar tissue and other changes that happen after a procedure make a revision more complex and difficult, but Dr. Lanfranchi is an expert in improving facelift results.

Not Happy With Your Facelift? When to Consider a Revision Facelift

If you had a facelift in the last few months and are unhappy with your results, you may be ready to schedule your revision procedure. However, revision facelifts are usually not performed for at least a year after the original procedure. This time allows swelling to resolve and scar tissue to develop, letting Dr. Lanfranchi work with your final results.

If your facelift was performed over a year ago and you are unhappy with your results, a revision facelift may be appropriate. Common concerns that lead to a revision facelift include:

  • Asymmetry
  • Changes in ear shape
  • Neck bands
  • Visible scars
  • A crooked hairline

If you are bothered by any of these issues, we recommend a consultation with Dr. Lanfranchi. He will develop a customized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs and helps you finally achieve your desired results.

How is a Revision Facelift Different?

When a facial plastic surgeon performs a facelift for the first time, your facial structures are in their natural position and have no scar tissue. Even the best facelift surgery will cause changes to your facial tissues that make a revision facelift more complicated. Dr. Lanfranchi is a facelift specialist and provider of the TLC Premier Lift™ facelift. He has extensive experience of over 15 years working with previously treated faces to achieve refreshed, natural-looking results.

What is Recovery Like After a Revision Facelift?

Recovery time after a revision facelift varies depending on the details of your procedure. Your revision procedure may be relatively minor or require more significant work. Most people will see improvements in swelling and bruising within a few days and can return to work in seven to ten days

Am I a Good Candidate for a Revision Facelift?

If you had a facelift more than a year ago and are unhappy with the results, you might be a good candidate for this procedure. A revision facelift can be performed on most people who want to change the results of a previous one. However, candidates must be healthy enough for surgery and have reasonable expectations.

Dr. Lanfranchi is the real deal! He is an amazing surgeon. I had the TLC procedure done, and the results are better than I could have anticipated. I am incredibly happy with the results. Dr. Lanfranchi and his staff are superb and highly educated at what they do, making you feel comfortable while treating you with great care and respect. I would never go anywhere else!! Thank you Dr. Lanfranchi and staff for making this one of the best decisions I have ever made!
