A facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, is a form of cosmetic surgery that will lift up your skin and pull it back, making the face appear smoother and tighter. The procedure will reduce sagging and flabby skin around the lower half of your face and neck.
Some of the main benefits associated with having a facelift are as follows:
- The removal of jowls that obscure the jawline
- Wrinkles can be removed, as can frown lines
- Excess fat is removed
- Create a more energetic, radiant, and youthful appearance
- Tighten and lift sagging skin
- Boost your confidence
3 Facelift Recovery Tips
When you have a facelift at The Lanfranchi Center, we will make sure you are provided with thorough yet clear post-op advice. Nevertheless, here are three good recovery tips to follow:
Have Your Recovery Space Prepared
The first piece of advice is to prepare a recovery space in your home prior to the treatment. This will ensure that you have somewhere comfortable and clean to relax while you recover. Plus, you will feel less stressed knowing that you have everything organized prior to your facelift.
Continue to Avoid Alcohol and Smoking
You are advised to avoid smoking and alcohol consumption before and after your facelift. You will need to avoid alcohol for at least two weeks after the procedure, yet we do advise refraining for longer. It is also important to make sure you do not drink any alcohol while you are taking prescription pain medication. The reason for this is because alcohol can interact with the medication, resulting in severe medical issues. After two weeks have passed, you can drink alcohol in moderation.
Follow Your Post-Op Instructions to a T
The final piece of advice is to make sure you follow the post-op instructions that are provided to you to get you back to life as quick as possible. All facelifts are different, as they are customized to suit the person that is having the treatment, helping them to deal with their problem areas and reach their specific goals. Therefore, the post-op instructions will also be tailored to suit you. This is why it is imperative to listen to the instructions that Dr. Lanfranchi provides.
