Is it harder to apply makeup because of drooping and excess skin above your eyes? Wrinkles and sagging in the eyelids are common signs of aging, making you look tired or sad or even obstructing your vision.
What is an Upper Eyelid Lift?
An upper eyelid lift is a blepharoplasty procedure that addresses sagging, wrinkles, and excess skin above the eyes. At the Lanfranchi Center, an upper eyelid lift is one of our most popular procedures for rejuvenating your appearance. This simple, effective technique can restore a youthful, bright-eyed look.
Dr. Lanfranchi performs upper blepharoplasty under local anesthesia. He’ll make a tiny incision in the natural fold of your eyelid, which will be inconspicuous once healed. He then removes the excess skin and possibly muscle and/or fat.
How Much Does an Eyelid Lift Cost?
Several factors affect the cost of any cosmetic treatment, such as where you live and your surgeon’s experience. The national average cost of eyelid surgery is $4,000 – $6,500. However, this estimate doesn’t include all associated expenses. You may have additional fees for anesthesia, medications, or the facility.
Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. Additionally, Dr. Lanfranchi customizes every procedure to each patient’s unique needs and goals. Your cost will depend on the complexity of your exact treatment, so we encourage you to schedule a consultation for an accurate quote.
Upper Blepharoplasty vs. Lower Blepharoplasty
You may wonder if you would benefit from upper blepharoplasty, lower, or both. That depends on the aging concerns you want to address. If you primarily want to improve the appearance of just one or the other, there’s no reason to have both. But, if you have aging concerns above and below your eyes, having the procedures simultaneously can be more time and cost-efficient.Â
An upper eyelid lift can correct issues such as:
- Droopy eyelids
- Hooding
- Excess skin and sagging above the eyes
- Wrinkles and puffiness above the eyes
- Limited peripheral vision
Alternatively, a lower eyelid lift addresses the area under your eyes. You might choose lower blepharoplasty for under-eye bags, and puffiness. Lower blepharoplasty results may last longer than upper blepharoplasty, but both last for at least a decade.
Am I a Good Candidate for an Upper Eyelid Lift?
If you have drooping or hooded eyelids, you’re probably a good candidate for an upper eyelid lift. You may also benefit from an upper eyelid lift if drooping eyelids are obstructing your vision. Ideal candidates should be overall healthy and have realistic expectations.
I am just over 5 weeks out from an upper and lower eyelift, and I’m unbelievably thrilled with the results. I’ve been wanting this procedure for a few years, but was extremely nervous about any sort of facial surgery. Dr Lanfranchi and his team made me feel so comfortable every step of the way, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. I had a girls weekend scheduled for right after the four week recovery mark, and none of my friends could even tell, they just kept saying that I looked rested and refreshed. The results are so natural and continue to improve by the day. I highly recommend Dr Lanfranchi to anyone interested in facial rejuvenation.
