What is a Lower Face & Neck Lift?

A lower face and neck lift is a cosmetic procedure that reduces signs of aging in the neck and jawline. Dr. Lanfranchi combines a neck lift with a full or lower facelift for optimal results, helping patients look years younger. The TLC Lift™, a neck lift and lower facelift, is Dr. Lanfranchi’s most well-known procedure.

How Does a Lower Face & Neck Lift Work?

The goal of a lower face and neck lift is to undo the effects of gravity, age, and sun damage on the neck and lower face. Dr. Lanfranchi lifts and tightens the skin and muscles during the procedure for a smoother, more youthful appearance. The TLC Lift™ can improve neck banding, jowls, submental fullness (double chin), drooping skin, and “turkey neck.” The procedure is performed with local anesthesia and typically takes less than two hours.

3 Tips for Lower Face and Neck Lift Recovery

Most patients take a week or two of downtime after a lower face and neck lift at The Lanfranchi Center. You should avoid heavy lifting, bending over, and strenuous exercise for at least two weeks. Team TLC will give you detailed aftercare instructions and be available to answer your questions throughout the recovery process. Here are three tips to keep in mind for fast healing and optimal results.

1: Keep your head elevated

You’ll want to get plenty of rest for the first few days. Use pillows to prop yourself up and keep your neck and head above your heart when lying down. This will help minimize swelling.

2: Do some gentle exercise

Do take it easy during recovery, but don’t go on bed rest. Some gentle activity is important for blood flow and will help you feel better faster. For the first couple of days, stick to slow, easy walking around the house. You can try going for a walk, doing some household cleaning, and other mild activities after that.

3: Consider scarves and turtlenecks for your return to work

Though many patients can return to work within a week, there will still be visible effects from the procedure at this time. If you’re self-conscious about the bruising, swelling, and incisions, you may want to have some scarves or turtlenecks on hand. You can also use makeup to minimize bruising.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Lower Face and Neck Lift?

Dr. Lanfranchi carefully tailors every procedure to the individual’s needs. Almost anyone concerned about signs of aging in their neck can benefit from a personalized TLC Lift™. Ideal candidates should be overall healthy and have realistic expectations.

“Dr. Lanfranchi changed my entire life. My procedure seemed to have taken 20 years off my face. This made me want to keep myself fit and healthy.”
