Eyelid Lift Treatment Details
At the Lanfranchi Center, Dr. Lanfranchi treats baggy or droopy eyelids and excess skin through a blepharoplasty. This treatment follows a couple of steps. The first is a consultation to discuss your expectations and goals. During this time, Dr. Lanfranchi discusses your options and offers advice for any questions you may have.
On the day of your appointment, Dr. Lanfranchi asks that you do not wear eye makeup and have someone available to drive you home.
Dr. Lanfranchi administers local anesthesia and makes hair-line incisions along the creases of your eyes. The excess thin skin is removed along with any bulging fat pads. Dr. Lanfranchi contours muscles in the area for optimal results.
Dr. Lanfranchi gives recovery instructions to be followed closely for optimal results after the treatment.
Differences Between Lower and Upper Eyelid Lifts
Blepharoplasty may result in lower eyelid lifts, upper eyelid lifts, or both, depending on your needs. The main difference is the place of incision and what the lift resolves.
An incision is made within the natural creases, close to the lashline, below the eyes in a lower eyelid lift. Dr. Lanfranchi removes fat pads and excess skin. The result is a decrease in puffiness and bulging below the eyes, minimizing the look of fatigue.
In an upper eyelid lift, an incision is made within the natural crease in the upper eyes. Dr. Lanfranchi removes the excess skin and bulging fat pads (if applicable), reducing hooding and improving peripheral vision. The tightness of the skin takes years off the face.
