Have you noticed your eyelids drooping, giving you a tired look even after a full night’s rest? Have those bags under your eyes prompt questions of if you are alright? No matter how much sleep you get or what makeup you apply, the exhausted look plagues your day? Patients who visit the Lanfranchi Center often voice these concerns when they come in for one of the most effective treatments available: a blepharoplasty–upper eyelid or lower eyelid lifts.
Eyelid Lift Treatment Details
At the Lanfranchi Center, Dr. Lanfranchi treats baggy or droopy eyelids and excess skin through a blepharoplasty. This treatment follows a couple of steps. The first is a consultation to discuss your expectations and goals. During this time, Dr. Lanfranchi discusses your options and offers advice for any questions you may have.
On the day of your appointment, Dr. Lanfranchi asks that you do not wear eye makeup and have someone available to drive you home.
Dr. Lanfranchi administers local anesthesia and makes hair-line incisions along the creases of your eyes. The excess thin skin is removed along with any bulging fat pads. Dr. Lanfranchi contours muscles in the area for optimal results.
Dr. Lanfranchi gives recovery instructions to be followed closely for optimal results after the treatment.
Differences Between Lower and Upper Eyelid Lifts
Blepharoplasty may result in lower eyelid lifts, upper eyelid lifts, or both, depending on your needs. The main difference is the place of incision and what the lift resolves.
An incision is made within the natural creases, close to the lashline, below the eyes in a lower eyelid lift. Dr. Lanfranchi removes fat pads and excess skin. The result is a decrease in puffiness and bulging below the eyes, minimizing the look of fatigue.
In an upper eyelid lift, an incision is made within the natural crease in the upper eyes. Dr. Lanfranchi removes the excess skin and bulging fat pads (if applicable), reducing hooding and improving peripheral vision. The tightness of the skin takes years off the face.
Who is a Candidate for an Eyelid Lift?
Anyone in good health who struggles with puffiness, excess skin drooping around the eyes, or impaired vision due to sagging skin is a good candidate for an eyelid lift. Blepharoplasty is used not only for cosmetic purposes but may be used to improve your vision. Peripheral vision may be impaired due to drooping eyelids, possibly prompting insurance to cover the treatment.
At the Lanfranchi Center, Dr. Lanfranchi understands that the essential part of your appointment is what you want to see when you look in the mirror. Discuss in detail what your goals are in your consultation.
Stellar Service from Start to Finish
Two months ago I had a lower lifestyle facial lift. I was apprehensive, but it was well worth the effort and expense. Dr. Lanfranchi and his entire staff were kind, caring and very professional, from the first meeting to the follow up appointments.
The procedure is done under a local, not general anesthetic, and it was easy. I healed quickly and am very satisfied with the results.
His fee was very reasonable. Any further facial work I want done, I will be sure to come back here.
