For people with sagging skin or heaviness in the brow and forehead, a brow lift can restore a youthful, natural, alert appearance. Compared to an upper facelift, a brow lift requires less recovery time and uses smaller incisions, making it an excellent option for those seeking to raise their drooping brows and smooth out extra forehead skin.
How Does a Brow Lift Work?
Performed under local anesthesia, a TLC brow lift starts with small incisions hidden inside the hairline. Dr. Lanfranchi uses this technique to gain access to the layers of skin and tissue so he can lift and reposition them. The procedure lifts the outer corner of each brow as well as smoothing and lifting the forehead. With incisions hidden in the hair, scars become nearly invisible once healed.
How is a Brow Lift Different From an Eyelid Lift?
While a brow lift will remove the appearance of drooping or heavy brows, an eyelid lift focuses on removing extra skin and fat from the eyelids themselves. Combining these two procedures can increase the impact of your results, making your eyes look significantly younger and brighter.
What Does a Brow Lift Treat?
A brow lift treats the resting position of the brows. A brow lift will decrease the overall appearance of aging in the treated area of the face and can remove the hooded eyes that make people look tired or even annoyed.
How Long is Recovery From a Brow Lift?
Initial healing takes about ten to fourteen days. During this time, follow all of Dr. Lanfranchi’s instructions for cleaning and taking care of your incisions and any bandages you need to wear. You should avoid too much activity during the healing period. You should also not use any kind of blood-thinning medication since this could compromise your healing.
Seeing your final results may take up to two months as the swelling goes down. Once the healing period has finished, you can expect your results to last usually a full decade, although gravity and time will alter the appearance somewhat.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
If you have drooping skin around the brows and forehead, you may be a good candidate for this procedure. People who also qualify for an eyelid lift make good candidates for a combination procedure. The ideal candidate is in overall good health, and either does not smoke or commits to cutting their amount in half for 2 months after their procedure.
After talking to several plastic surgeons and realizing I did not want to undergo the trauma of a full face lift, I happened upon Dr. Lanfranchi. Best thing I could have ever done! Not only was I able to do the whole procedure right there in his office, but at a fraction of the cost! My eyes came out beautiful and I also had a lower face/neck lift. Took years off me and i look fresh without looking like I had “work” done! He is truthful, patient and extremely skilled and I highly recommend him! His staff is wonderful too! Thank you for the care and the change to my eyes and neck! Dr. Lanfranchi is THE best!
