Is an Upper Eyelid Lift Worth It?

Loose skin and sagging eyelids can make your eyes look tired and droopy. Correct these concerns with an upper eyelid lift, a procedure that lifts and tightens the upper eyelids for a bright, wide-awake look that can let you look decades younger. All procedures have costs and benefits, so is an upper eyelid lift worth it for you?

What is an Upper Eyelid Lift or Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty, also known as an eyelid lift, is a procedure to restore and rejuvenate the eye area. An upper eyelid lift focuses on the upper eyelid and addresses concerns such as loose skin, wrinkles, and a “hooded” appearance. It can even improve your vision if your excess skin blocks your view. Dr. Lanfranchi specializes in facial procedures, allowing him to achieve superior results over surgeons who address the entire body.

Is an Upper Eyelid Lift Worth It?

Deciding whether a procedure is worth it is a very individual choice. We recommend a consultation to discuss the risks, benefits, and costs involved with your upper blepharoplasty. Dr. Lanfranchi will answer your questions and help you weigh your options.

Upper Eyelid Lift Cost

Cost is often a concern for people considering an upper eyelid lift. The average cost of this procedure ranges from $4,500 to $6,000. However, this will vary depending on your surgeon’s skill and experience. Financing can put your upper eyelid lift within your budget.

Upper Eyelid Lift Benefits

An upper blepharoplasty has many benefits that make people consider it. These include:

  • Tighter, less wrinkled eyelids
  • A more refreshed, youthful appearance
  • Natural-looking results
  • Easier makeup application
  • Improved confidence
  • Can be performed alone or with other procedures like a lower eyelid lift

Only you can determine whether the benefits outweigh the cost. Blepharoplasty results should last ten to fifteen years or more, making it a long-term investment in your youthful, refreshed appearance. An eyelid lift is often combined with other procedures, such as a facelift, to complete the facial rejuvenation process.

How is an Upper Eyelid Lift Performed?

Dr. Lanfranchi performs your upper eyelid lift with local anesthesia, and it usually takes less than an hour. He will make an incision hidden in the creases of the upper eyelid to lift and tighten excess skin, remove or reposition fat if necessary, and reveal your eyes without a startled or artificial appearance. Your incision only requires a few sutures and will become almost invisible as it heals.

Am I a Good Candidate for an Upper Eyelid Lift?

Candidates for an upper eyelid lift should be in good health and have achievable goals. Dr. Lanfranchi will discuss your hopes and expectations during your consultation. Good candidates range from their 30s to almost any age as long as you are healthy. You may not be a good candidate if you have certain eye conditions or other medical issues.

“I was so thrilled at the results of the procedure and actually felt that, at age 65, I looked better than I had at 50.”
