During the first step of the procedure, Dr. Lanfranchi numbs a small area of the donor site, often on the abdomen, thighs, or other areas with excess fat. He uses a small tool called a cannula inserted through a tiny incision to harvest the required amount of living fat cells.
Processing Fat
The collected fat is processed to separate out the highest-quality fat cells for use. By using only the healthiest fat cells, Dr. Lanfranchi ensures they will thrive in their new location and provide a lifetime of results.Â
Injecting Fat
The processed fat cells are injected into the areas of your face that need extra volume. Common areas include the cheeks to add sculpting or under the eyes to reduce hollowness and shadows. Dr. Lanfranchi’s eye for symmetry and balance allows him to create a naturally rejuvenated appearance.
What is Recovery Like After Facial Fat Transfer?
Recovery from facial fat transfer involves the area where the fat is collected, as well as your face. The area of fat collection may experience minor soreness or bruising for a few days. You may also experience some swelling in the injection areas. Most people return to work and light activities within seven to ten days.
